Brake rotors?
Whats the difference between Plain, Drilled, Slotted, vented brake rotors?
What are the best?
A "plain" (I assume you mean solid) rotor is just that. A solid piece of cast iron. In the early days of disc brake systems most rotors were solid. Today solid rotors are typically found only on the rear axle.

Vented rotors are thicker but hollowed out in the middle with fins and air vents to allow heat to dissipate. Vented rotors are now pretty much standard on front brakes and are often found on high performance vehicle applications on the rear brakes.
Cross-drilled rotors are just standard vented or solid rotors that have had holes drilled through the rotor surface. This technology began in racing but from the late 90's became all the rage with the Rice-boy street crowd. Many people think cross-drilling helps dissipate heat but the evidence to support this is at best mixed. It was actually developed for racing applications in the late 1960's as a way of venting gasses between the brake pad and rotor surface. Also, cross drilling makes the rotor slightly lighter. For street use it is done purely for because the car owner thinks they make him sexier. There is no practical performance benefit.
Slotting is done for the same purpose except that instead of a series of little holes a series of long grooves is cut into the rotor surface. Soem people just can't get enough and have rotors that are both cross-drilled and slotted.
For street driving the brakes that came with the car are way beyond adequate.
